Harry Kane misses penalty as Michael Olise scores winner for Bayern against Wolfsburg

Harry Kane missed his first penalty in the Bundesliga as champions Bayern Munich eventually saw off strugglers Wolfsburg 1-0 with a second-half goal from Michael Olise at the Volkswagen Arena.

The England captain had previously scored all of his 10 spot-kicks in the league so far but saw his perfect record disappear as he appeared to slip just before firing the ball high and wide late in the first half.

Wolfsburg, looking to keep themselves ahead of St Pauli and Heidenheim and in the relegation playoff spot, had been the dominant side before the penalty award but were unable to make the most of their opportunities.

Bayern, out to recover from their Champions League semifinal exit to Paris Saint-Germain, eventually made the home side pay in the 56th minute through a fierce drive from Olise.

Wolfsburg, though, almost snatched a dramatic late equaliser when Mattias Svanberg burst into the Bayern box, but his low shot came back off the foot of a post.
